FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How do I sign up for clinics?

Our clinics are geared more for the auditioning/working voice actor, and we are very diligent about the vetting process.  We require at least 2 years of basic acting classes, 1 year of VO specific training, and professional demo reels to be considered as a member of the VAN community.  If you meet these requirements, click the "New to VAN?" tab above and send us your info!  If you do not yet meet these requirements, no problem!  Click on our Resources tab to find great classes, coaches, and reputable companies to help produce your demo reels! (when you are ready for that stage :)

I submitted my info and demos through the "New to VAN" tab, how long does it take to get approved?

There are over 1200 actors already in our database, and we are receiving more submissions than ever before.  All members of the VAN team are also working voice actors themselves, so please be patient with us!  It may take a couple months before we are able to review your submissions!

I received an email that I was approved to only take certain types of clinics, why was I denied access to other clinics?

Our job at Voice Actors Network is to help facilitate connections with fellow industry professionals when you are ready for that particular stage of your career pursuits.  If you have never taken acting classes, you will not be approved.  If you have never taken animation or video game acting classes, you will not be approved for animation or video game clinics.  We'd be doing you a disservice by approving you for clinics you are not yet ready for.  The entire VAN team reviews every submission, and decides together if an individual should be approved for clinics.  Voice Actors Network reserves the right to refuse service to any individual.

I received an email that I was approved to take clinics, so now what?

You must first set up your username and password through the link we emailed you, and MUST be logged in to your account to sign up for clinics.  We launch new clinics the first week of the month for the following month, and email everyone who is on our APPROVED list.  We also announce the date they will launch on our social media accounts a day or 2 before they go live. (So be sure to follow us on Instagram @voiceactorsnetwork and on our Facebook at: Voice Actors Network. (private group))
I signed up for my first clinic! What should I prepare or bring?
Great! Excited to welcome you!  Click on our "What to Expect" tab on the homepage to learn more!

What if I sign up for a clinic but need to cancel?

We have a strict 48 hour cancellation policy.  Meaning that if a clinic is to be held on a Wednesday evening at 7pm, you MUST cancel by that Monday at 7pm to receive a full refund.  To cancel you can email us at: voiceactorsnetwork@gmail.com.  Any attempted cancellation within 48 hours of a clinic will not be refunded. We do not offer credit for cancellations.Transfer of clinic spots is not allowed, whether they be purchased from the original attendee, or gifted to another individual. Offering your spot up on social media is not permitted either. The majority of our clinics have lengthy wait lists, so we want to be fair to the people who have added themselves to a wait list on our site.

How do I add myself to the wait list for a clinic?

After the last spot in a clinic has been filled, a wait list option will automatically pop up on the clinic page.  The first person to add themselves to that wait list will be the first person we contact in case of cancellation.

Can I request a specific guest instructor to teach?

Absolutely!  You can email us at voiceactorsnetwork@gmail.com to ask about or refer a specific instructor, we just can't make any guarantees as to their availability.

What's the difference between Digital Clinics and regular clinics?

Our Digital Clinics are similar to in-person clinics, but are designed to help fine tune performance & self direction when recording from home!  Participants will be emailed script copy, record their reads from home, and upload their MP3 to a password protected forum site attached to this website.  Our guest instructor will listen and provide audio feedback remotely!  Participants will then upload a 2nd read with the notes in mind, and will receive written feedback about the adjustments.

If I don't live in Los Angeles, can I take clinics?

If approved for clinics, absolutely.  In this case we also highly recommend our Digital Clinics, as you can receive valuable direction and feedback remotely.
